How can I protect my HDD?
I need to know: a system with two HDD, one with operating system and the other with my documents.
Suppose that while connected to the internet a virus is downloaded to the second hdd (i.e. the one with my docs) would it infect the other hard drive(i.e. the one with OS)I know that the anti virus should prevent this from happening but one never knows. social bookmarking |

If you want to protect the HDD then you have to do some of the software which it will protect from you to the virus . It is really nice which you have these software which is scanning the virus in daily manner then only you can protect the HDD .

RE: How can I protect my HDD?
If the virus hits your hard drive that contains all your documents, then it may not affect the other hard drive with your OS but it could wipe out all your documents. I would rather have it hit the drive with the OS because you can always reinstall the OS. You can't replace lost documents unless you backed them up to an external drive. I would just make sure you back up your documents on a regular basis to either an external hard drive or burn them on DVDs. Also keep your virus software on and running. All should be fine.

RE: How can I protect my HDD?
You can use several different antivirus programs. It outlines essentially the hard drive as it is, and keep it off. If you get a virus that can not get rid of, or if the hard disk fails, you can restore the image so that it is as his was before the problem began.

RE: How can I protect my HDD?
Yes, it is possible to protect your hard drive using the lock command. For example,
Locking system on - this will lock your score System Lock: off - it will unlock. If you want to lock a drive other than your primary partition simply substitute Sys: for the drive name. luxury ski chalet verbier |
